The intention of A Seat at the Table
~Francesca James
At the end of the day, every human being, no matter what their race or experience, simply desires to love and be loved. That is a point from which we begin seated at my table.

It is a platform for Black Voices to speak while White people listen and learn from a perspective that they've never before been privy to.

We must tell the truth about our history. Healing cannot exist without it.

A Seat at The Table is a webinar series that has tackled some important topics for our tumultuous times.

These conversations are important. They create an elevated level of understanding, which sets the stage for healing to take place.
Hosted by Francesca James
The intention of A Seat at the Table is to amplify the voices of those
with lived experience of Black Life.
*
To ensure that the voices of Black People are no longer drowned out by well-intentioned, newly-enlightened activists.
*
To have White people join in the discussion from a place of
informed listening.
*
Black Americans—must be heard, believed, and supported in order to create transformative change.

What people are saying...

It was a wonderful experience! Thank you so much for putting on such an important educational event. 💗

Thank you so much, Francesca, for organizing, moderating and leading the discussion last night. It was incredible. There is/was so much to digest.... I truly learned a ton. 💗

Oh my goodness, Francesca, I absolutely loved every minute! I truly believe we need you to present Deconstructing Racism as a series, or at different locations. I thank you for your work. My sister loved it as well. My daughter was jumping up & down to be involved & so invigorated.
Love & gratitude.

The conscious conversation of "Deconstructing Racism" was beneficial to me. It assisted in my understanding that racism is a "constructed" system, and it can be "deconstructed," when one understands when it was constructed, why it was constructed, how it functions, and how it's maintained.
